This morning I went with Alice to drop Elsie off at nursery and be introduced to the staff. It is a nice little nursery and Elsie enjoys going there.
Alice and I then had a drive up the coast to do more baby shopping! We had a two hour drive to……. IKEA! Yes, they are here too! I must say I was looking forward to the meatballs and cinnamon buns all the way there!
So I wasn’t disappointed with the meatballs which were great but they didn’t have any cinnamon buns so I had to have a poppy seed and orange bun instead. It was good but not as good as the cinnamon buns!
After lunch we identified where everything was and in an extremely orangish do and time efficient manager we got everything – I think we managed it all within the hour which for IKEA must be a bit of a record!
On our return journey there was one stop at another baby shop ” Baby Bunting” and we picked up both items in there in super quick time too thanks to the help of one of the friendly assistants!
As it was such a long journey both ways I took my knitting which is almost finished…… a little preview!
As you can see (and if you are gender/colour specific!) let’s hope the baby is a boy or a girl who like blue or Elsie will have a new blanket for her dolls and they don’t mind!
Quote: The Ladies’ Home Journal article in June 1918 said “The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and pink for the girls. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for girls.” For more go to The History of Pink for Girls, Blue for Boys.
IKEA and ALDI sounds a bit Northern Europe to me ?

It is very suprising how much here makes me feel like I am in the UK apart from the weather of course! But also there are strong similarities between here and South Africa and Florida! Is the world becoming homogenised? Not something to look forward to! 😟
